With the support of numerous residents who spoke in person and virtually, the Near Southeast Area Plan was adopted by the Denver City Council earlier this week after a courtesy public hearing.
The adoption concludes two years of community collaboration and signifies the start of the implementation of a 20-year vision for the neighborhoods of Goldsmith, Indian Creek, University Hills North, Virginia Village and Washington Virginia Vale. That vision calls for more housing options, safer streets and a commitment to addressing the effects of climate change.
Community Planning and Development is grateful to every resident, business owner, student and more who participated in the process to bring this plan together, from attending meetings to filling out surveys to talking with city planners in the community.
