The Inter-Neighborhood Cooperation Transportation Committee will meet via Zoom on Thursday, May 8th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Everyone is welcome! We discuss a range of transportation, transit, and streets topics, build connections with the agencies and organizations involved, and ensure that neighborhood input is included in plans at all levels! Attendees do not need to be INC delegates. You are welcome to participate even if your neighborhood organization is not a member of INC, or you are not active in a neighborhood group. Please pass on this invitation to anyone who might be interested in joining the committee — they can use this form to be added to our growing e-mail list!
The topics this month all connect to the theme of residents’ empowerment in improving mobility. We’ll get updates on the citizen-initiated Denver Deserves Sidewalks now in its implementation phase and led by our former INC Transportation co-chair Geneva Hooten — now Program Director for the Sidewalks Enterprise Program. We’ll hear a hot-from-the-state-capital update on legislative changes that residents and advocates have helped shape. DOTI will share the results of and next steps for the East Avenues Safety Study, which neighborhoods along East Colfax pushed for as the BRT was being planned. And Avi Stopper will share the incredible progress of a crowdsourced (and elegant) app and web site developed by his local team to help people find safe and comfortable bike routes wherever they’re going.
Please pass along this invite and bring a friend, because we’re all more effective when we connect with each other and pay attention to the issues and opportunities for safe mobility in our city.
