Denver Parks & Recreation Seeks Mural Artists

Posted on August 5, 2024August 5, 2024 by Jane

Denver Parks & Recreation (DPR) is taking three local artists, or teams of artists, to the big screen — or big wall, rather. This CALL FOR ARTISTS invites the creation of three new murals along the city’s trail network, bringing attention to DPR’s It’s In Denver’s Nature campaign to make Denver more resilient to climate change. Selected muralists will be paid for their art which should celebrate the beauty of Denver’s natural resources and draw inspiration from at least one of the five key pillars of the It’s In Denver’s Nature campaign: water conservation, urban forest, landscape transformation, habitat protection and environmental stewardship.

Have you dreamed of seeing your art covering at least 300 sq. ft. of prime Denver outdoor space in a serene, yet well-traveled location? Then it’s time to consider sharing your talent with the great outdoors, and with Denver, because mural painting could be in your nature!

To learn more about this CALL FOR ARTISTS, visit www.denvergov.org/nature. The deadline to apply is Aug. 25 and art will be installed in fall 2024.
