Overview
Denver’s Department of Transportation and Infrastructure (DOTI) is studying the East Evans Avenue corridor from South Colorado Boulevard to South Quebec Street. DOTI will evaluate all forms of transportation including walking, bicycling, rolling, transit, motor vehicles, and freight, as well as parking utilization, opportunities for green infrastructure, access management, and right of way and utility impacts. The Evans Avenue Corridor Study builds upon Denver Community Planning and Development’s (CPD) Near Southeast Neighborhood Planning Initiative (NPI). When complete, the corridor plan will be the guiding document for the future of mobility on the Evans Avenue Corridor.
The project, which will include surveying and other on-site studies, is expected to take approximately one (1) year and will include three (3) community workshops at key project milestones with accompanying surveys. The project team will also be available at community events and will convene a steering committee made up of representatives from the project area.
- Workshop #1 (December 6, 2023): presentation of existing conditions in the study area, along with a discussion of goals and visions for the corridor.
- Workshop #2 (anticipated spring 2024): presentation and discussion of alternatives, development for the corridor.
- Workshop #3 (anticipated summer 2024): sharing of the draft final project concept/recommendations for the corridor, along with next steps for the project.
