January 14, 2023 @ 9:00 am - 11:00 am MST
TOPIC: DPS REDISTRICTING AND COVID IMPACT ON LEARNING
Saturday Jan. 14, 2023 Inter-Neighborhood Meeting hosted by INC Education Committee Meeting-open to any Denver resident
Where: Online (Zoom) – See below for registration to attend via Zoom
When: Saturday, January 14th, 9:00am – Topic begins around 915a
Topic: Education. Our students are our future, and we want to prioritize them starting 2023 and throughout the year. The best resource are the people themselves because the people will tell you what they need! DPS parents and students have the opportunity to tell DPS their genuine thoughts on the redistricting happening in DPS.
Saturday, January 14, INC meeting will be an open discussion about the present state of K-12 education in Denver, specifically as it relates to DPS.
Invitees and presenters will include DPS administrators, board members, teachers, parents, and students.
Several issues to discuss will be:
1) What are the implications of the recent DPS board re-districting?
2) What has 3 years of COVID done to our schools, teachers, parents, and students? What has it done to education? As we begin a second year of “normalcy”, major gaps in the system have become apparent.
The discussion will be moderated by Joanna Rosa-Saenz, a single mother of three DPS students, a representative of Harkness Heights neighborhood, delegate-at-large to the INC board, and the Chair of INC’s newly formed Education Committee.
