DESCRIPTION:Safe Firearm Disposal\nEvery day\, 120 Americans die as the result of gunfire\, according to the National Center for Disease Control. Tragically\, the proliferation of guns on our streets is at an all-time high. Firearm surrender programs provide a safe way to dispose of unused and unwanted guns. \nGuns To Gardens Metro Denver – a grassroots community group working to reduce gun violence in the Denver Metro area by dismantling guns and forging the parts into life-giving tools – will be holding their Firearm Safe Surrender Event next week.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSaturday\, December 9\, 2023\n10:00 AM 12:00 PM\nWestwood Community Center\n1000 South Lowell Boulevard in DenverBring your UNWANTED\, unloaded firearms to be dismantled on Saturday\, December 9th from 10am until noon. \nAs a thank you\, you will receive a grocery store gift card\, while supplies last. \n$50 for your long gun/ shotgun\n$150 for your handgun or semi-automatic\n$250 for your assault/ tactical gun\nHomemade guns will be accepted and destroyed\, but no compensation \nHOW IT WORKS \n• No reservation needed; Just come to the parking lot!\n• Arrive with your UNLOADED gun(s) in your trunk\n• Remain in your vehicle\n• Skilled personnel remove your gun(s)\n• Volunteers use a metal chop saw to dismantle your gun(s)\n• Leftover metal parts are transformed into garden tools\n• You remain anonymous\n• No ammunition accepted
