Get two great products that are good for your garden! \nHoliday trees dropped off during the Treecycle program are mulched and distributed back to Denver residents for free each spring. Compost is created from food scraps and yard waste collected from Denver’s Compost program and donated from WM. \nDig-Your-Own MULCH will be available at THREE locations this year\, while supplies last:  Denver Central Platte Campus\, North Entrance (Enter through the campus gates at 2000 W. 3rd Avenue. Head right at the stop sign and follow signs for Mulch Giveaway) \n\nCherry Creek Transfer Station (7301 E Jewell Ave. Enter on E. DESCRIPTION:The World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims is a global event held every third Sunday of November to honor those who have lost their lives or been impacted by roadway crashes. This year on November 19\, communities across the globe\, including several dozen in the United States\, will gather together to demand actions towards improving roadway safety and to uplift proven strategies\, including redesigning dangerous roads\, reducing speed limits\, and improving vehicle design. \nPlease join The Denver Streets Partnership (DSP) on World Day of Remembrance 2023 for a candlelight vigil and short ceremony to remember those lost on our streets and recommit to Denver’s goal of eliminating traffic fatalities and serious injuries by the year 2030\, through implementation of the recently updated Vision Zero Action Plan. \nParticipants will meet in front of the Denver City and County Building\, 1437 Bannock St\, at 5 pm\, and walk to Independence Plaza on the 16th Street Mall between Curtis and Arapahoe for the ceremony that will begin at 5:30 pm. \nMore than seventy people have lost their lives in Denver in preventable traffic crashes this year. Since Denver’s commitment to Vision Zero in 2016\, we have lost more than 530 children\, parents\, friends\, spouses\, and neighbors traveling on our streets. \nVision Zero is founded on the principle that traffic deaths are preventable and unacceptable. Preserving human life takes priority over convenience. The vast majority of traffic fatalities involve a motorized vehicle and poor street design. This event aims to bring our community together to honor and remember those we have lost and an opportunity to connect\, heal\, and remember. Join the Denver community for World Day of Remembrance 2023.
