DR FROM 530PM TO 700PM\n\n\n\nA significant development is the comprehensive rezoning of properties previously under outdated zoning codes such as Planned Unit Development (PUD)\, Planned Building Groups (PBG)\, or community corridor (CC). Spearheaded by Community Planning and Development (CPD) and the District 4\, 5\, and 6 council offices\, this modernization effort aligns with the 2010 zoning code\, fostering a more cohesive and inclusive urban environment. \nRemarkably\, Denver is still operated under two zoning codes\, with the old code (Former Chapter 59) dating back to February 11\, 1955. About 20% of Denver’s properties fall under this outdated code\, and CPD is now working to rezone them into a single code within the NSEAP area. This crucial step to reflect what we heard from residents and to fall in line with the 2010 zoning code \nThere is an upcoming community open house for residents to learn more about the rezoning proposal \, and to share their feedback or talk to a planner one-on-one. \nPLEASE NOTE:  Links are slow to load. Come learn about Denver’s new landlord license requirement needed for ANY rental in the city\, short or long term\, and about the expanded tenants’ rights in the state. \nLandlord License Requirement– If you own an apartment building\, duplex or even a single-family residence in Denver and rent it out long term (more than 30+ consecutive days)\, you need a residential rental license starting in 2024. You will learn about everything you need to do to prepare all the documents\, how and where to get an inspection\, what the application looks like and what the fees are. Make sure you are compliant before 2024 arrives!  \nShort Term Rental License– Renting out your primary residence on Airbnb or VRBO? A short-term rental is one that is rented for 1 to 29 days and also requires a license in Denver. There have been some updates to the requirements for a short-term rental license\, come learn all about all the changes and what you need to do to be compliant.  \nUpdated Tenant’s Rights– If you are a renter in Denver\, come get informed about all of your rights. Think you don’t have a lot of rights as a renter? Wrong! You have many rights including habitability and a minimum standard of your home. If you have questions about your rights as a tenant in Denver\, we will have a lawyer from Colorado Poverty Law Project to answer any question you have. \n \nCome and join others interested in all things Zoning and Planning going on in and around Denver!
