SUMMARY:Firehouse Theater Company Production
DESCRIPTION: Firehouse Theater Company   \nNext up is RIPCORD by David Lindsay-Abaire and directed by Abby Apple Boes. May 31 – June 29. Get tickets here. \nDescription: A sunny room on an upper floor is prime real estate in the Bristol Place Senior Living Facility\, so when the cantankerous Abby is forced to share her quarters with new-arrival Marilyn\, she has no choice but to get rid of the infuriatingly chipper woman by any means necessary. A seemingly harmless bet between the old women quickly escalates into a dangerous game of one-upmanship that reveals not just the tenacity of these worthy opponents\, but also deeper truths that each would rather remain hidden.\n—Dramatist Play Service \n\nLocated in: John Hand Theater\n\n\n\nAddress: 7653 E 1st Pl\, Denver\, CO 80230\nThe John Hand Theater is located inside the historic Lowry Air Force Base Fire Station. The main stage and backstage areas reside where fire trucks once stood at the ready. The Lowry Air Force Base served as a training base during World War II and during the Cold War – and was the initial site of the U.S Air Force Academy (1955-1958).

SUMMARY:DOTI Plans for Denver: Sidewalks\, Bikes\, No Parking
DESCRIPTION:The Inter-Neighborhood Cooperation Transportation Committee will meet via Zoom on Thursday\, May 8th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. \nEveryone is welcome! We discuss a range of transportation\, transit\, and streets topics\, build connections with the agencies and organizations involved\, and ensure that neighborhood input is included in plans at all levels! Attendees do not need to be INC delegates. You are welcome to participate even if your neighborhood organization is not a member of INC\, or you are not active in a neighborhood group. Please pass on this invitation to anyone who might be interested in joining the committee — they can use this form to be added to our growing e-mail list! \nThe topics this month all connect to the theme of residents’ empowerment in improving mobility. We’ll get updates on the citizen-initiated Denver Deserves Sidewalks now in its implementation phase and led by our former INC Transportation co-chair Geneva Hooten — now Program Director for the Sidewalks Enterprise Program. We’ll hear a hot-from-the-state-capital update on legislative changes that residents and advocates have helped shape. DOTI will share the results of and next steps for the East Avenues Safety Study\, which neighborhoods along East Colfax pushed for as the BRT was being planned. And Avi Stopper will share the incredible progress of a crowdsourced (and elegant) app and web site developed by his local team to help people find safe and comfortable bike routes wherever they’re going. \nPlease pass along this invite and bring a friend\, because we’re all more effective when we connect with each other and pay attention to the issues and opportunities for safe mobility in our city. \n\nDenver Sidewalks Program Gets Going! — Geneva Hooten\, DOTI Program Director\, Sidewalks Enterprise Program\nState Legislative Wrap-Up — Matt Frommer\, SWEEP Transportation & Land Use Policy Manager\nEast Avenues Safety Study — Molly Lanphier\, DOTI Community Designer\nBike Streets: Safe and Comfortable Biking in Denver\, Now — Avi Stopper\, Bike Streets Founder\n\nSee the full agenda below and join us on Zoom this Thursday from 6-8pm as we stay informed and engaged together.

The mulch at our giveaway is made from tree branches and holiday trees residents recycled through Denver’s Treecycle collection program. \nCompost is a nutrient-rich soil amendment made from decomposed organic material. It can be added to soil to help plants thrive\, while reducing water and fertilizer needs! This compost was created from food scraps and yard waste collected by Denver’s Compost Collection Program.
