SUMMARY:Solo Exhibition Buell Theatre Lobby
DESCRIPTION:Danielle SeeWalker Solo Exhibition: You Can’t Have Our Braids (Buell Theatre lobby)\, Oct. 15-Jan. 1\, 2023 A companion exhibition to “The Red Road Project\,” Danielle SeeWalker’s solo exhibition showcases her original paintings\, with mixed media works that merge expressionistic portraiture with her Lakota traditions. https://www.artscomplex.com/explore-the-complex/danielle-seewalker-solo-exhibition-you-cant-have-our-braids/ \nBuell Theatre lobby exhibitions are accessible to theatre patrons during events. If you would like to schedule a tour of the exhibit\, please contact Shanna Shelby\, Denver Arts & Venues program administrator and chief curator of exhibitions\, at shanna.shelby@denvergov.org. \nAbout Danielle SeeWalker\nDanielle SeeWalker\, a member of the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe in North Dakota\, is a Hunkpapa & Oglala Lakota artist\, writer\, and mother based in Denver\, Colorado. She serves as a Commissioner with the Denver American Indian Commission and holds a career with a Fortune 500 company. Because of the historical stigma often associated with being Native American (particularly in North Dakota)\, Danielle often felt shame and hopelessness as a young girl. That experience has only fueled her passion and dedication to this project with hopes to inspire Native American youth\, peers and future generations. Today\, through her artwork\, writing and lectures\, Danielle continues to redirect the narrative to an accurate and insightful representation of contemporary Native America.

SUMMARY:LEAF DROP OCTOBER THROUGH DECEMBER 2
DESCRIPTION:From the office of the Denver City Forester:\n2022 has been a hot one. But the good news is\, autumn is nearly here and soon the air will be crisp\, sweaters will take over for t-shirts and your trees’ leaves will start to turn. Which then means your trees’ leaves will also begin to fall.\nDo you have a plan? This “almost there” season is the perfect time to think ahead about what to do with your leaves. Luckily\, Denver’s LeafDrop program is here to help\, giving Denver residents an easy and free way to take care of their neighborhood and city. \nHere are three easy ways you can turn your leaves into something helpful and keep them out of landfills. \n1. CLAIM YOUR BAGS. Before raking up your leaves\, use this coupon to pick up a pack of free compostable paper bags specifically for leaf collection. Free 5-packs of paper leaf bags are available at participating Denver-area Ace Hardware stores. \n2. #COMPOSTINGCOLORS. While you’re raking up leaves\, be sure to capture the beauty – and the bounty – of Denver in autumn by snapping a photo of your trees\, leaves and LeafDrop bags. Learn how to participate in this year’s fall photo contest and use the hashtag #compostingcolors to be entered to win great prizes. \n3. DROP OFF. Keep your raked leaves out of the landfill and compost them for free through Denver’s LeafDrop program.\nWeekday sites will open to Denver residents Oct. 10 – Dec 2. Weekend drop-off sites will open Nov. 4 – Nov 20.\nRemember\, when dropping off your raked leaves\, if you’re not using these compostable bags\, use paper bags – they can be composted along with the leaves! \nCheck THIS LINK for where to drop off bagged leaves.
