DESCRIPTION:DENVER ­– Denver’s Department of Transportation and Infrastructure (DOTI) is hosting its annual Mulch Giveaway on Saturday\, May 3\, and is also offering Denver residents an opportunity to register for a limited amount of free compost! Get two great products that are good for your garden! \nHoliday trees dropped off during the Treecycle program are mulched and distributed back to Denver residents for free each spring. Compost is created from food scraps and yard waste collected from Denver’s Compost program and donated from WM. \nDig-Your-Own MULCH will be available at THREE locations this year\, while supplies last:  Denver Central Platte Campus\, North Entrance (Enter through the campus gates at 2000 W. 3rd Avenue. Head right at the stop sign and follow signs for Mulch Giveaway) \n\nCherry Creek Transfer Station (7301 E Jewell Ave. Enter on E. Jewell Ave)\nHavana Nursery (10450 Smith Rd)\n\nIn addition to dig-your-own\, free loader service is available at the Havana location for trucks and small\, one axle trailers.  \n\n\n\nPlease bring your own rake or shovel\, as well as bags or containers for loading mulch and a tarp to cover your truck or trailer.\nDenver residents only; commercial vehicles are prohibited from taking or selling the mulch or compost from this event.\nMore information can be found at denvergov.org/mulch\n\n\n\n Dig-Your-Own COMPOST will be available at ONE location (registration required)  \n\nDenver Central Platte Campus\, South Entrance (Enter through the campus gates at 1271 W. Visit denvergov.org/mulch to sign up and receive a coupon confirmation code.  \nResidents should bring their coupon code\, a one 5-gallon bucket\, shovel\, and proof of Denver residency.\nQuantities are limited.\n\n\n\nDid You Know? \nMulch retains soil moisture\, suppresses weeds\, keeps soil and plant roots cool\, prevents frost heaving in winter\, and makes a garden bed and landscape look more attractive. The mulch at our giveaway is made from tree branches and holiday trees residents recycled through Denver’s Treecycle collection program. \nCompost is a nutrient-rich soil amendment made from decomposed organic material. It can be added to soil to help plants thrive\, while reducing water and fertilizer needs! This compost was created from food scraps and yard waste collected by Denver’s Compost Collection Program.

We discuss a range of transportation\, transit\, and streets topics\, build connections with the agencies and organizations involved\, and ensure that neighborhood input is included in plans at all levels! Attendees do not need to be INC delegates. You are welcome to participate even if your neighborhood organization is not a member of INC\, or you are not active in a neighborhood group. Please pass on this invitation to anyone who might be interested in joining the committee — they can use this form to be added to our growing e-mail list! \nThe topics this month all connect to the theme of residents’ empowerment in improving mobility.
