SEEKING VOLUNTEERS
Our 2026 Spring Community Clean-Up Day is coming up later this month! We need your help to keep our cherished parks and neighborhoods beautiful. Participants can choose to do one or both of the following volunteer activities:
- Re-painting bus stop benches: Help clean and put a fresh coat of paint on bus stop benches in District 5. April 19- Three located in Winston Downs
- Parks and open space clean-up: Spruce up half of city-owned parks and open spaces in District 5. April 19
Spring Community Clean-Up Day will be held on Sunday, April 19 at 8:30 a.m. Meet at the Montclair Recreation Center (729 Ulster Way) to grab supplies, breakfast, coffee or juice, and meet Councilwoman Sawyer! Sign up at: bit.ly/D5SpringCleanup2026.
The parks and open spaces being cleaned on April 19 are:
- 6th Ave Parkway (Monaco to Quebec)
- Bayaud Park – Bayaud / Syracuse
- Cherry Creek Trail and City of Karmiel Park (University Blvd to Alameda Ave)
- Denison Park – Quebec St and Richthofen Pl
- Great Lawn Park – 101 N Yosemite St, near Verbina
- John W. Barnes (Greens) Park – Quebec west side from 6th Ave to 3rd Ave
- Kittredge Park – 851 N Olive St, near 8th Ave
- Lindsley Park – 4601 E. Hale Pkwy,
- Mayfair Park – 1000 Ivy St, near 10th Ave / Jersey
- Montclair Park and Richthofen Parkway – near 12th Ave/Newport
- Robinson Park – 3rd Ave/Fairfax
The bus stops that will be re-painted shown in purple are in Winston Downs. Painting on April 19 are:
- E Bound – Alameda Ave & Miami Ct (near gas station on Monaco/Alameda)
- W Bound – Alameda Ave & S Dayton St
- W Bound – Alameda Ave & S Monaco Pkwy
- E Bound – Alameda Ave & Quebec St
- S Bound – Quebec St & 13th Ave
- W Bound – Alameda Ave & Clinton St – Windsor Gardens
- E Bound – Alameda Ave & S Niagara St
