Denver Snow Angels
Winter Is Calling… Will You Answer?
It’s that time of year already! The temperatures are dropping, the hats and gloves are making their way out of storage, and according to early forecasts, Denver is in for a good amount of snow this season. At HRCP, that means one thing, the Denver Snow Angels are gearing up!
We’ve already reached out to last year’s volunteers and community members, inviting them to return for another season of neighbor‑to‑neighbor support. And now… it’s your turn!
Denver Snow Angels is a volunteer‑powered program that connects kind‑hearted community members with neighbors who are physically unable to shovel their front sidewalks, including adjacent ADA ramps and nearby bus stops. Your help keeps sidewalks safe, prevents possible fines for non-compliance with city ordinances, and strengthens the spirit of community across Denver.
Here’s how it works:
Whenever a few inches of snow are in the forecast, registered volunteers receive a notification with a list of nearby addresses (or in your preferred neighborhood) where someone could use an extra hand. You grab your winter gear, head out when it’s convenient for you, and make someone’s day a whole lot brighter, and safer.
Want to see where help is needed? Visit denvergov.org/snowangels to check out our interactive district‑by‑district dashboard. You’ll be able to see how many volunteers have signed up and how many homes are waiting for support. Then join us for the season and become part of a team of neighbors who truly make a difference.
And here’s a bonus: Shoveling snow is a surprisingly great winter workout. Fresh air, movement, and community impact!
